Answers to what we are asked most often. If your question is not here, you are always welcome to write to us.
How do I pay?
You pay by card directly on the site. The amount is reserved on your card straight away, but only charged once the work is packed and ready to ship.
If the sale should fall through, the reservation is released and no money has ever moved.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated from the weight of the work and shown in your basket before you pay — nothing is added afterwards. If you collect the work yourself, shipping is free. We currently ship within Denmark only; write to us before ordering if the work is going abroad.
Can I collect the work myself?
Yes. Choose collection in the basket and we will arrange a time. The studio is in Slagelse, Denmark, and visits are by arrangement.
Can I change my mind?
Yes, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the work. Write to us and we will arrange the return. The work must be in the same condition as when you received it.
What is a made-to-order work?
Some works are only made once they are ordered — so you can have exactly the shape, size or colour you want. You pay 20% when you order, and the balance is charged only when the work ships.
Delivery time depends on the work and is agreed when you order.
Who are Zenia & Boldsen?
We are two artists under one roof: Anja Zenia works in ceramics, Martin Boldsen in painting. We often exhibit together, and here you will find both our bodies of work in one place.
Are the works one of a kind?
Most of them are. Each work is made by hand and exists only once, and small variations in shape, colour and surface are part of what handmade means.
A few things are made in series — small flowers and cups are cast in moulds, and a few motifs are published as art prints in limited runs. Each work states what you are buying.
Why are there two different VAT rates on the receipt?
Original works are sold at the reduced Danish artist VAT rate of 5%, while series-produced items and art prints carry the standard rate of 25%. Shipping is always 25%.
That is why two items in the same basket can carry different rates. All prices on the site include VAT, and the rates are itemised on your receipt.
Where can I see the works in person?
Under Exhibitions you will find the fairs and markets we take part in, along with the galleries where our work is on permanent display. The list is updated as new arrangements fall into place.
Can I visit the studio?
Yes, by arrangement. Write or call and we will find a time. There is always more to see than what makes it onto the website.
